I have been reading some of the messages on this site and would just like to say it has somewhat restored my faith in human nature!! Has anybody had any dealings with the major banks in negotiating full and final settlements and what sort of % in the £ it is possible to get them to listen too??
All help greatly appreciated - have had my head in the asnd for far too long!

Thanks Richard - didn,t i read one of your replies a while back that you managed to negotiate 25p in the pound - do you think this may still be possible as my family want to help me out and try to avoid either an IVA or bankruptcy

Hi Dumb,
Banks will always do deals, their negotiating stance depends on your personal circumstances. If they believe you've got assets with net worth or a high income then they're going to expect more; if you haven't then 25p in the £1 is a lot better than a bankrupt ex customer.
Post a few more details and you'll get some meaningful responses. Banks don't get personal, they'll always take what they believe is the best for their long term interests, and quite often that's in the customer's best interest too.

Thanks Richard. I have a very satisfying one.:D
Fortunately it doesn't involve exploiting the legal system to evade my responsibilities.
Interesting comment firebrand. It can't be very satisfying if you have to resort to the cheap comments you've made on here this evening.
Judges, barristers, solicitors and politicians all exploit the legal system and I don't see too many of them on here.
How do you evade your responsibilities??0 -

I've got a young wood pigeon roosting on the study window ledge; he keeps tapping at the window; I get the distinct impression he's got a higher I.Q than firebrand et al. Firebrand what a laugh; "wetfart" seems more appropriate.:rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
You know what? It's like being a nightwatchman on here sometimes protecting the innocent. So sorry to hear about Frank Reid dying today. I liked his humour0
