Future Mortgage Application, Old Default

Hi

Can someone kindly help me?

I am planning on obtaining a joint mortgage this year.

I have today had sight of my Equifax Report, and to my shock there is an old Default from BT to the sum of £135.00.

This red default is dated March 2009 on my file.

My credit utilzation is currently hight at 76%.

I am hoping to get this down to around 40% in 3 months time.

1) will this default drop off in 2 months time? or do i have to ask for it to be removed?

2) at what percentage is it deem a low (or good) credit utilzation?

3) how quickly will my score improve after the drop in percentage and removed default?

Many thanks for your help.
