Nationwide mortgage cashback

Hello,

I recently took out a Nationwide mortgage, and opted for the £250 cashback as opposed to the free legal fees. Does anyone know how this will be paid? I'm sure I read somewhere that this gets paid to your solicitor. I've already paid my solicitor in full, and was under the assumption I would get the £250 from Nationwide via cheque or as a direct transfer into my current account.

Thanks for your help!

If it has been paid to your solicitor did they not deduct £250 from your bill?

I know when I got my cashback from YBS a few years ago that went to my solicitor and ultimatley I ended up getting £150 back off them as they used a portion of the cashback to pay their fees which was ideal for me at the time!
  • Thanks. I completed two weeks ago, and the money is meant to be credited within a month of completion. Just wondering if it'll come straight to me or if I'll have to get back in touch with my solicitor to get it off him.

If the money is credited to the solicitor they'll get in touch with you or simply send a cheque like mine did.
