Popped £20 across to my Natwest Credit Card which is minimum payment (due tomorrow) plus 8.50 extra. Every little helps!

  • I've secured an ongoing freelance design job that will require 4 hours a month and pay a retainer fee of £100 with £20/hour overtime. That money will go straight towards paying my debt off. One step closer to being able to pay off £450 a month and achieving debt free by Christmas!

This week has been expensive, I'm leaving my job today and so I bought lunch for the office yesterday (£18 in nibbles, cheese, ham etc) plus my car is still broken down so still using trains and buses.

I've got the rest of the week off so that will help me to be money saving! I will spend some time tomorrow building up my portfolio on a freelance website to see if I can get any more little jobs.

I'm going to get the slow cooker out tomorrow for the first time (Christmas present that I haven't had time to use yet!), hoping to try pulled pork - I bought a little joint from Lidl for £3.

Today is the first Monday of not having a job! Trying to keep my spending super super low. I'm going to review my spending so far this month so I can see which budgets I have already maxed out and which ones I have some wiggle room in.

I had an interview for a job this morning and I've made it to the final three which is good news. It would be almost £10k per year more money and great prospects so fingers crossed!

I have my car back now which cuts down the public transport costs but I'll be paying out on petrol again now.

Fingers crossed for a low spend week!

Have had a tricky week and feeling a little sad/scared.

I may have to move out of my shared house (we have to give two weeks notice) and therefore need a new deposit/agency fees etc in two months time. I say 'may' as we haven't actually given notice on our house yet (housemates are moving to different parts of the country and I can't commit to signing a new 12 month contract with strangers).
The problem is (as all renters will know!), is pulling the money together to move. I will move to Southsea I think and will be able to rent somewhere for about £500-550pcm. I'll need six weeks rent as a deposit (£750 approx), plus first month's rent (500-550) plus agency fees (maybe as much as £250) and then moving costs/initial bill set up fees (up to £500). That's £2k!! I just don't know where I'm going to get that from in the next two months. Terrifying.

I'm looking for bar work/waitressing to up the pennies.

I've had to pay out another £400 on my car which means I only just have enough for rent and bills for February. Not including food, petrol, life stuff! Major wobble and desperately don't want to incur more costs or debt.

I am going to pop to CAB today and see if there is any help available whilst I am job hunting (not sure I can claim JSA as I had to resign from my role due to bullying, so I guess that means I made myself job-less!). I've got two job interviews next week but obviously there will be a delay in payment even if I did get offered a role immediately.

I am going to do my self-assessment tax today or tomorrow and expect a rebate from that.

I have an outstanding expenses claim from my job (left last week) that I am chasing and hopefully will be around £200. This will be paid by cheque I suspect but I will put pressure on for a BACS transfer.

Today I sold some books to Amazon for £23 which is good but obviously comes back to me as a giftcard. Although, my hair dryer has broken and I couldn't afford a new one, so I will see if I can buy one with those vouchers once I receive them.

    Just worrying lots! :(
