Twitter unfollow system?

Options
Does anyone have a good way to keep track of which Twitter accounts to unfollow?

I use ManageFlitter, but just wander vaguely through my oldest follows, trying not to cancel any bloggers. There must be a quick, efficient way to keep a list of dates and accounts it's safe to unfollow, but everything I've thought of won't identify the ones where I'm following the same person for two or more different comps and prevent me unfollowing before the last date

try untweeps www.untweeps.com login with twitter id, authorise the app (can delete this later, from your twitter profile - setttings- apps),

then select how many days (min 16) that people you follow haven't tweeted, and hit go. should bring up a list, with days since they last tweeted.

click the ones to get rid, and confirm. should be of your followed list in a few seconds.

I wouldn't worry about removing any 'favourites' that haven't tweeted in a while- if they're good enough, likely will be retweeted into your feed soon enough.

&& just a quick thought- can add any fave accounts to a list, which you can then look their tweets at any time-even if not following! (can theme each to a particular subject, and have public/private too!)
Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)

    I use tweepi to unfollow.

I don't have a system by way of a spreadsheet or anything to know when and who to unfollow, but I tend to unfollow those that I first followed about 5 months ago, unless I know that they run regular competitions, or are a comping friend. That way, a one off competition should have ended, but I take a chance that I may have unfollowed someone that had a long running competition.

As suggested above, you could always use lists to give you an idea when to unfollow, but I cannot be bothered with that.

If you use Ninjawin - the drop down menu at the side of your name has a manage following tab, you can then click on find hosts that have not run a comp for a while - I just unfollowed over 100!

I just use the list system.

For example, people I've followed for comps ending in December go in to a 'december' list and I delete them in mid/late Jan so they have time to contact me if I've won.

If I go to enter something and I'm already following them, I just see what list they are in and move to a different list if appropriate.
I also have a 'comp' list for regular comp hosters and daily lists for winning wednesday/freebie friday etc.
Thank you to everyone who posts on the competitions boards. You all rock!
