Private treatment costs?

I've just had my hospital appointment postponed to have temporary stent removed from bile duct. I have been given another date but I'm not confident that this won't happen again. As I'm self employed this has cost me a considerable amount of time and money, cancelling appointments etc. Has anyone experience of having this done privately- a ballpark figure? Would it be worth it? I think an overnight stay is probably necessary. I've no idea if it's even feasible.

Many private hospital groups will give you an all in price for pay as you go procedures eg Nuffield, spire, etc.
Our local private hospital costs around £900 for hospital fees for day procedure, £300 ish anaesthetist plus surgeons fees which start around £350 and go up depending on time etc.
Phone your local private hospital up and enquire as to pay as you go fees.0 -
As above, but remember you can also ask for a package price, ie the procedure plus all aftercare.0

Is it possible to elect to have the procedure elsewhere in the NHS? In my area the BUPA and Circle hospitals offer certain NHS procedures, and are generally far more efficient than the main NHS hospitals.0
