Is anyone aware of any loft space insulation grants currently available?
I believe PowerNI had such grants but are now no longer available, though I think they provide it as reduced cost.
Thanks

no idea about grants ,but its not expensive to do it yourself .
I was advised to buy rockwool from the local builders merchant and do it myself .
Buy a pack of dust masks some gloves and disposable overalls .Mine cost around £100. I was told to avoid B&Q"Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0 -

It's worth checking with Warm Homes, before that scheme wraps up for good in March. You need to be on benefits to qualify though.
All the private power companies provide grants - we all pay a tariff on our bills to cover the cost of this work. However, the grants are published in April of each year so it's unlikely that there will be any money left this late on in the game. Ring round them all, but if you don't have any luck try again in April/May time. This site has a download of all the schemes available for the financial year 14/15 and the eligibility criteria for each scheme: http://www.housingadviceni.org/grants-financial-assistance/energy-efficiency
Bryson Energy has a energy advice line that should be able to help you work out if you qualify for any other grants or funding.0 -
If anyone is insulating the loft themselves, make sure not to block any eaves vents and maintain a good cross ventilation in the roof. You need ventilation on the cold side of the insulation to reduce the likelihood of condensation accumulating. You may need to increase current ventilation with tile vents etc.[STRIKE]Less is more.[/STRIKE] No less is Less.0

Not true
There is a scheme available to those who qualify living in NI, see here > http://www.housingadviceni.org/grants-financial-assistance/energy-efficiency

Perhaps you could point me to the free insulation provided by Budget Energey and Electric Ireland.
Here's the link to MSE information on free insulation.

Key bit.
The offers below aren't available if you live in Northern Ireland. But you may be able to get free insulation through other schemes.
So yes, I was right as all the NI electricity suppliers do not provide free loft insulation.
P.S. Some GB suppliers provide it free to anyone provided they aren't social housing tenants.0
