Just spotted this Tea Caddy Gift Set for £1.99 in the W H Smith clearance section and thought it would make an ideal gift for tea lovers and/or tin collectors:

http://www.whsmith.co.uk/products/city-of-london-tea-caddy/35436829

red phone box with English afternoon tea
red post box with English breakfast tea
red double Decker bus containing earl grey tea

The description quotes the packaged size as 8.0 x 14.0 x 5.0 cm (3¼ x 5¾ x 2 inches), so they are quite small - but cute!

According to an ebay listing, this is for 3 x 25g caddies.

A different ebay listing quotes 70g Loose Tea - not sure if this is the TOTAL weight of the tea for each tin, or the set of three tins though?

If you order into your local store then delivery is free. Otherwise there will be a charge for delivery.

Don't forget Quidco (thanks to silverchair for the reminder) and Topcashback.

Looks really good but depends on the best before dates really - difficult to buy now for pressies later on in the year if the dates are short. Might give it a shot and take a chance as it's such a good price.
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

I've just typed the product code (0054881010634) into Amazon and one of the reviews mentions a tea infuser - which would suggest that this is Loose tea.

It is currently £7.99 on Amazon - and similar on ebay.

As these are on clearance, the best before date will probably be quite short.

You could always try looking out for tea offers over the year and re-filling them nearer Christmas.

Personally, I am more interested in the tins :)

Yes - look at the last picture. Very easy to refill with fresh tea if the BB date is quite short (just peel off the label and add your own!).

Great spot, thanks OP. W H Smith website terrible, couldn't find local store until I put town, county - said there were no stores otherwise!
Took ages to work it out, and it kept losing the order as well. However now ordered.
Post Christmas bargains thin on ground in my area this year, either still "half price" (ie same price as before christmas) or gone completely. W H Smith instore here has no bargains at all but lots of wrap etc.
