As above, most loan companies won't take payment by credit card. That Amigo loans set up sounds awful, designed to lock you in forever. Maybe there is another way you can get it paid off (family or friend) to free you from that trap of it never coming down. Im not sure that it technically true, I paid of 2 PDL companies with my credit card & then shifted them to a 0% balance transfer card...

I may just try that as I think that may be the best option. Can't hurt to try!

My mum isn't worried about it, as even though she is a guarantor, she has never had to pay, nor would I ever let her pay.

She possibly could lend me the money, but as a retired person with my dad in and out of care homes, that's not a discussion I wish to burden her with. At the moment she doesn't have to worry about it at all.
