Searching Twitter

Does anyone have any tips/apps for searching twitter for comps.
The issue is I am now following so many people its hard to find the comps in my own timeline.

I am on the verge of trying to build my own app, filtering keywords such as "win", "give away" and excluding tweets I have already retweeted.

Twitter have !!!!!!ed up the search by trying to be Facebook and Facebook are trying to be twitter.
Twitter was great when it "just worked", now it has gone off the boil and like a pan of stew it is starting to get a bit unpalatable.

Look at the timelines of people who have entered the competition, this information is under the tweet (People who have Rted) - most will be compers.

I agree about following other compers.

I also use a variety of hashtag searches to find comps and also check the time of day you are searching. 8-9am is good for UK comps, but 2pm brings up all the american Twitter comps and is a faff to sort through. One Direction fans are the current bane of my Twitter comp timelines too!

If you want to check and RT your previous comp entries on Twitter, I find favouriting them is helpful to keep track.
