Fixed or Variable

Hi,
We are updating our mortgage package soon and we're trying to decide between Fixed or Variable rate. We are currently with (and will probably stay with SBS) http://www.skipton.co.uk/mortgages/
I've plucked a couple out
- 5 Year Fixed: http://www.skipton.co.uk/mortgages/fixed-rate/5-year-fixed-rate-mortgage-75-ltv-high-fee-remortgage
- 2 Year Variable: http://www.skipton.co.uk/mortgages/variable-rate/2-year-discount-mortgage-60-ltv-no-fee
Appreciate any suggestions

My deal is ending soon and I'm definitely going for a fixed rate. I am sure that interest rates will go up and I don't want the uncertainty of variable rates0

Id personally see if you can get a better deal on a tracker with the facility to switch and fix if needed. I personally don't see interest rates going up at the moment. But that will depend on oil if it stays so cheap.I am a Mortgage Adviser

Those are products for new borrowers. I can't see any information about products for existing borrowers not moving home;-
