Right where to start?
I have a sizeable amount of debt (£36kish) and this year i am going to get it down. I am starting this diary so i have a sounding block when my debt gets tough, when i have an urge to buy some shoes or splurge on something i don't need. I will instead come here and put down in black and white so i can be reminded about why im being abit more frugal.
A little about myself. I live with my partner and 2 pets and we have his son over most weekends. I work full time and have just moved to a fixed term 6 month contract. In the future i want to have my own children with my partner but before i can do this i need to have tackled my debt and have a perm job so my time off with baba is paid for.
I have made a list of clothes that i will need to buy and toiletries i am due to run out and i plan to do this as cheaply as possible and stick to the lists i have made.
Im going to look at some of the challenges on here to join to help me along and i will be back to update shortly

I am so very bored at home and am trying to not go out and spend money. Need to find myself some low budget or free hobbies as historically when i feel like this i go clothes shopping and that is a no go zone for me at the moment.
As promised i signed up to some savers challenges and the NSDs challenge. Im aiming for 12 NSDs in January which is quite low but i feel its achievable so i wont be disheartened.
I go back to work on monday and im almost glad so i can get back to normality. I also need to make sure i get the christmas tree down this weekend but that means tackling the mess that is the garage to find the boxes....... Oh well i guess i have rambled enough for now, im off to motivate myself to do something2015 £2 savers club #51- £2

Wishing you the very best on your journey!
I have/had a similar amount of debt and it really does help me so much coming on here updating my diary and reading others- I'm sure you'll find the same!
As for cheap hobbies... reading seems to be my big one. I always fancied trying to learn crochet or knitting to knock myself up some nice things but don't seem to have the patience for it!
Will subscribe! :beer:Total Starting Debt August 2014- £38,061

Hi Pinkpoppies thanks for popping by. I agree that reading other peoples diaries is very helpful, its good to know that your not the only person going through it all, not that i would wish this debt on anyone but you know what i mean.
I started to learn to knit last year so i might try and pick it up again. I find its good to do something debt related sometimes, focus your mind elsewhere for abit.
The good news i didnt go out and spend money so thats my first nsd of this year :T
This is going to be a very long journey but im ready for it this time, each baby step at a time2015 £2 savers club #51- £2
