Have friend who is in latest BT pension scheme and is in 40% tax bracket and does not use salary sacrifice .
Does anyone know if she have to claim some of the tax relief back herself or is this handled automatically for her by the BT scheme.

Contributions to the BT pension scheme are made from gross salary before tax is paid so she is getting full tax relief at that point. There is no need to claim anything back.0 -

whether using salary sacrifice or not, pension contributions are deducted before tax is calculated.The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0
