Guys, see they have a RHI allowance for domestic installs of domestic boilers
a £2500 grant and a rhi payment paid every quarter for 7 years
they estimate you will have investment paid off in 3 years
wish they brought this out before i put in my new boiler.
only found out when my plumber came out to replace a 2 port valve.

Alex I am currently looking into the Defro boiler system which you had brought to the forum. Apparently though these types of boilers arent eligible for the grants and paybacks. They are not "green" enough. The boilers for grants are the higher end ones burning pellets, not coal. Basic prices for these types of boilers start at around 4500 rising to over 10000. This excludes fitting costs and any other parts such as flues etc. But I suppose they would be better value with the grants if you can afford the upfront costI started out with nothing......And still have most of it left:p0

was talking to a friend thinking of wood pellet, same fella i use give him a quote of net cost installed £3400 for a 25kw pellet boiler with the 2500 grant applied.
not bad if you have 3500/4000 as with rhi payments payoff around 3/4 years and with 7 years rhi payments.0 -
That sounds pretty reasonable. Can you give me some more info on who supplies this. I'm definitely in the market for one and have been pricing Defro boilers. Best price I can get for a 24kw Defro boiler is about £2900 inclusive of VAT. Then I have fitting to pay for plus any extras. So the price you say of £3400 sounds good when you take into account the extra rhi yearly paymentsI started out with nothing......And still have most of it left:p0
