I was just thinking whether it would be better to open a SB Search thread and post search wins there as we seem to have a lot more people now posting and it was something suggested previously.

The thread is already really long and sometimes it is just pages of search wins :)

People do seem to welcome the inspiration of other people's wins, and to know that the search function is still paying out now & then. But, it is still completely random as to when a particular word or phrase is rewarded with a few SBs, so not really worth all these posts.

Personally, I don't think we should put 'asajj' to the trouble of creating a separate thread. But, I DO think it would be better if we all stopped routinely posting our wins. This is from a time saving perspective. Every time I get an email alert that someone has posted, I feel I have to check the site, because it may be a kind person is alerting an Instant Survey or something similarly urgent.

So, without in the least criticising anyone for posting anything, could we perhaps try limiting posts that are just 'Search win's, and save them to add if we have something more significant to share? :D

No thanks. Why does it make any difference how long this thread is, you can just jump straight to the last page and skim read through. IMHO- the best organisation comes from keeping like items together. The only exception was for codes which are short-lived and people would like an instant notification by email when these come up, without needing to be spammed hundreds of times a day about things they are not interested in. That is also how the mystery shopping thread runs and it is very effective. Search wins are just part of the normal, general discussion about SB and also help newbies to learn the ropes. Hence why I think it should remain as is. But maybe consider a quarterly thread? If there is some reason for that, I mean- it doesn't slow my computer down or anything having had one that lasted a year or more.

PS. I use the search wins posted here every day, at least once I would regret if they were missing. As for everyone who says it's random- then why do the same wins get multiple for wins for unconnected people. That is a rhetorical question, thanks!

It was only a suggestion

Did I listen to pop music because I was miserable? Or was I miserable because I listened to pop music?

  • Incidentally I've stopped posting winning searches here because:

    1) SB could issue personalised winning searches and identify us from there.
    2) I've read on Reddit that posting winning searches in against the TOS, or that somebody has been banned for that (I know, there's a lot of scaremongering on Reddit, but here you go).
    3) Posting and reading all searches on this thread is time consuming.

yes, I do exactly the same 3 times per day, trawling through the last 4 or 5 pages and very often duplicating a few of the search words/phrases, I always get a total of 15 - 20 SB's for searching this way, it also ensures that I read every post, (eventually ) and pick up many other useful directions from posters on improving my daily score...........please keep the search successes posts coming !

As said, it was just a suggestion.

With regards to the thread, it will make it slower to run as far as i know.

Feel free to post them but I am not sure I will be able to contribute much here going forward as I find it a chore to go through all pages to find a meaningful post among all search wins to be perfectly honest and none of the wins are really helpful to me. I don't remember when was the last time I earned through any of these suggestions here.
