Hi everyone, long time lurker here and thought since we are going into the new year and I want to stay focused (new year new me hopefully!) that a diary might help with that.
Brief rundown, there's myself, DH and we have a little one still in nappies. Hoping to put our efforts into overpaying over the next couple of years so that we are able to move to a 'forever home' with more space for our hopefully growing family.
We have spent the last while getting our finances in order and reducing bills where we can, we have a few things to pay out in January, aims are -
*credit card balance will be paid off
*summer holiday booked and paid
Any extra left over will be our very first OP! Quite excited about that!
Anyway just a small introduction, hoping to get to know some of you over the next while. I know of a few names already from lurking.
Thanks for reading!

After having a think about what might help towards OP's I will definitely be having a declutter, maybe sell a few things on ebay and gumtree.
Also I have joined quidco and topcashback, every little helps!
Enjoying seeing how others do it0 -
Hello Daisydoop
I find 'extra' cash is a good way to top up OPs after my standard one (included in our monthly DD) - all my quidco. topcashback, ebay and facebook sales go to the mortgage - and they really do add up
Look forward to following your journey

Well not long now till 2015 starts and our adventure begins. Feeling quite positive that we can make a good sized overpayment in January so I know that will give us a boost to keep going!
Also been reading about making extra money online by way of surveys and things so will look at this more in January. Wouldn't know where to start at the moment with that but I'm willing to learn
Hope everyone has a great start to 2015. Definitely feeling excited for it!0 -
Good luck daisy. There is loads of help on the boards. Make your way over to old style moneysaving for things like grocery challenge etc. there are also loads of threads on cash making websites on the up your income board.
Best wishes for the new year

Best wishes to you too!0 -
Well we're getting into the year now and have sold some items on eBay, still have things to sell so must get round to taking photos of them and listing them. In fact I'll try to get on to that tomorrow!
Still totting up money and will make hopefully a good overpayment at the end of the month!
Still unsure how is best to do it, does anyone know if you can make an overpayment in branch with rbs? If not I suppose telephone banking as I don't think you can do it online but I'll be sure to find out!
Hope everyone is going well!0 -
Been moving some money around today and working out what we have. Definitely on track to make a £500 overpayment but really hoped it would be closer to the £1000 mark. Credit card paid off though! Happy about that, now to see about our summer holiday0

Hi daisy
I don't know about RBS specifically but I can overpay online either as a regular DD or SO, or simply as if I am paying a bill to the mortgage account.
