Comfortable walking shoes/trainers for New York.

Just booked a break away to New York :T

Having been previously, and suffered for my fashion footwear choices, I am now thinking VERY sensibly and looking for some comfortable walking shoes/trainers to buy.

Has anyone seen anything/bought anything they could recommend?

I would still like to lean on the side of 'fashionable', nothing too 'old lady' please :rotfl::rotfl:

Thank you!

get some sketchers when you get there as theyare 1/2 the UK price

if you can find them over here try them on in the shop and then buy in NYC

I recommend Merrell, most comfortable shoes I've ever bought. They are not cheap however.

Ecco are also comfortable but again, not cheap.

Thank you, I'm unsure as to leave it until I get there as I am a bit OCD about planning and preparation :rotfl: Will have a think about it though, thanks.

I would also recommend Merrell for very comfortable walking shoes.

If you search on amazon you can occasionally pick up an excellent deal (I think they are usually last years colours or styles)

I've just got an £85 pair for just under £30

Another Merrell vote, but they have now split their own market and offer cheap and expensive lines, they use confusion marketing and trade on their brand.

The Vibram soles are far more comfortable, but are the more expensive lines.

The cheaper ones I have bought recently don't have Vibram soles, but are sold with a huge discount, just like the Amazon link above where they are stating an original price of £85.
  • I recommend Hotter.
Full price they're expensive, but worth it I think.
    Lots of styles and colours

Sketches Go Walk are amazingly comfy and come in lots of colours. Wore mine most of last year and they are still going strong.

I walk a few miles every day. I live in Nike trainers.

I have two pairs which I rotate, both are Nike Free trainers (very flexible) I have the TR+ and the 3.0 and both feel different but are flexible enough to prevent my feet from feeling tired or getting cramp which I seem to find in shoes or boots where my feet are forced to stay still and not flex.

They are also very light, they are designed to be very light so would be easy to pack away and carry without adding too much excess luggage weight.
