New microwave for my mother - ideas please ?

My mother killed her microwave yesterday, and I mean killed - bang, smoke etc.
She wants a new microwave in which she can cook porridge, reheat soup, cook jacket spuds, reheat M&S ready meals and heat milk.
My mother says as she has an oven she doesn't necessarily need a combi like she's had before. She doesn't want a make she's never heard of, and doesn't want some tiny thing that's pretty useless.
Anyone have any personal recommendations please ?
Merry Christmas !

I think it's great! Also lots of good reviews on the John Lewis website.0 -
I have a Panasonic combi and swear by it - hardly ever use my main oven and reckon I save on using the conventional mode of microwave oven for M&S ready meals.

This what I would recommend too - had my Panasonic combi for years and virtually never use my big oven. Especially cooking mainly for one it's much more economic and easy to clean.0 -
Trouble is the Panasonic combi now are heated by a grill element for the oven.I have 2 Panasonic combi, the new one is heated by the grill and the other is heated normal and the grill heated one is not very good. as it will burn the top of food before it cooks through the food.0

I'm happy to say I've never had this problem. Perhaps the oven temperature needs to be reduced a bit or there's a fault with yours? I've had mine coming up for four years now and would replace it with exactly same if necessary.0 -
I have had one of these Panasonic microwaves for a couple of years now., easy to use, clean and understand. Neat looking too, sites nicely in my black and white kitchen. Highly recommend it and I believe John Lewis give a 2 year guarantee.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
