New camera advice please?!

I'd like to buy a new digital camera, but don't know which deal I've seen is the best!
can anyone advise?
I've seen a 7mp Samsung on offer at £79.99 in Argos, and some goos deals with Fujifilm and vitivar in Comet.
What should I look for.. and what is a good price?
I dont have a huge amount to spend, so would like the best i can get for my £80-90.
Any help greatly appreciated!

vivitar are a good value camera, digital zoom is a must and you'll need to upgrade the card cos the one you get in the box is going to be tiny but memory is cheapthings arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back then

Thank you

Whilst looking, I've just seen this one, was £199, now £89.
FUJIFILM FINEPIX A825
Anyone have this, or can tell me what they think?
As you can see, I'm lost a bit as there are so many to choose from!
I know I can't afford much, and won't be able to buy another for a long time, so it has to last

good spec and good features and should meet all your needs for years.
as someone else said go for optical zoom as you get a better picture quality.
As well as a memory card, think about good quality re-chargeable batteries (the higher mAh the better in most cases)
At some stage you might want a new case, but they are cheap enough, ours came from Asda.0 -

That looks like a good camera for the price. The thing that would put me off that camera is that it uses AA batteries. These really don't last long in a camera and constantly need recharging. If possible it's better to look for one with a li-ion battery provided. I've taken well over 250 pics and only had to recharge the battery once.
If you need to by an xd or sd card have a look at tesco own brand (the card is made by fuji) and much cheaper than the fuji branded ones.

I disagree - digital zoom is pretty worthless in my opinion. Optical zoom is invaluable.0 -
Wouldn't be put off too much by it using AAs - Fuji's are normally pretty good on batteries, and 2500mAh AAs are reasonably priced.0

Thank you all for youe help- i already have an SD card from my old camera, so i don't need to buy another one

Don't get too hung up on megapixels when you get to 5mp anything above is the law of diminishing returns. Your monitor and printer will be unable to take advantage of massive megapixels.
This site has been going since digital cameras started, it's a US site and so there may be some slight model differences but you should listen to their advice.
