Good morning all and to any returning/new peeps. Will catch up with you when I return home.

DD is still poorly, think ger partner is taking her back to docs tomorrow as she is still not improving.

My car is snowed in at the moment so will have to dig it out at some point and the snow is still coming down. We are on a really high point here.

Glad to hear things have improved for your Brother Wingo, big hugs for all the family.

Will catch up again when I can, good luck everyone.
BIG THANKS TO ALL WHO POST THE COMPETITIONS

    Hi Everyone, :hello:

Alice my wife was admitted into hospital on the 24/12 with aspiration pneumonia

It is with great sadness that I have to tell you that my wife Alice after a long hard battle with Alzheimer's sadly passed away in the early hours of Saturday morning 10/01

thankfully I managed to respect her wishes until the very end, when she was well she said that she didn't want to die in hospital and that she didn't want too end up in a care home

I made the decision with the consultant that her body was telling us that it was time to let go so we decided on a DNR and that there would be no feeding tubes and that she would receive palliative care, I said that's OK but I would like Alice to receive palliative care at home which was agreed

Alice came home from hospital on Tuesday 06/01 with her aspiration pneumonia that wasn't responding to treatment and she had also lost the ability to swallow, palliative care was provided by Alice's Carers, District Nurses,Macmillan and Marie Curie

they said that due to her frailty that she would only last 2 days but she battled on and lasted nearly 5 days

a few hours before she died after being unresponsive for nearly 3 days she came round and gave everyone a big kiss

she died at 2:15 am holding both my hand and her best friends hand

hoping when the funeral and everything is sorted out to get back into comping again so I may be around on the boards hopefully sometime in the near future

the only problem is that because we both moved into an extra care facility my landlord is saying that I will have to find alternative accomodation because I don't need extra care

so really theres not much point in me doing comps if I have to move sometime soon :(

    take care

Only problem is that some of the parcels and mail are delivered by private companies and are not delivered by Royal Mail so these would not be re-directed

So sorry to hear your news Amilucky. It was great that you were able to care for Alice for so long. I hope you find other accommodation soon.
