pension..should I moan or be patient?

I retired in June & am awaiting a company pension & although they promised verbally that I would receive a letter this week, nothing has arrived. The pension is question is a small amount from my most recent employment amounting to just a few hundred pounds but the main amount I paid into with the same employer had been 'frozen' as the pension scheme was changed some years back. This is a much more substantial amount. How long is normal for a company to cough up with my money. They knew in February this year that I would be retiring in June & all the relevant paperwork was forwarded to them late February. Should I just be patient or should I start to moan about the delay. thanks for any replies!

I would start chasing them just in case they are waiting on you and the papers have been lost in the mail.
    Trying to keep it simple...;)

    Hi
It's not a moan it is a legitimate enquiry about monies owing to you, however i would go through and check your paperwork about entitlements just to be on the safe side.
As with anything, always copy letters and paperwork that you send if the money involved is worth more than the cost of a photocopy.
Always use positive languange when enquiring and stand up when calling; psychologically it builds you up; don't take no for an answer, always ask for the information provided over the phone to be put in writing to you, say please and thank you as the person on the other end is only doing their job and can be the route to your answer if you are nice to them.
There may be rules around the frozen scheme that are stopping your monies, and you just need clarification so that you are aware of the situation as it stands.
    Good luck
  • thanks for your replies. I know all the paperwork is in order & complete & yes, I have kept copies of everything. The last time I spoke to my ex employer, some weeks back, they assured me it was all in course & being dealt with their pension administration department in India! I will call them tomorrow to ask why the delay after all, I'm losing valuable interest on my money! hopefully all will be sorted very soon.
