in Cutting tax
hello all,
My vehicle tax runs out on 31st December 2014.
I see we no longer have to wait five working days for the tax disc to arrive in the post (when paying online / on the phone).
I want to pay my vehicle tax online, whats the latest date I can pay
31st December? 1st January?

Technically the 31st Dec but I doubt that the SORN mechanism will kick in if one day late, PROVIDED that you don't have it on a public road on the 1st before you tax it. There is always the possibility, albeit slim, of a police car with ANPR pinging your car before you buy it.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I think the difference is that if you pay online on 31st December the vehicle will be licensed from 1st January before you receive the tax disc, but if you renew online on 1st January, it will not be licensed until you receive the disc and can display it.".....where it is corrupt, purge it....."0

the point is you do not receive tax disc now to display.
we renewed ours online end november, but it did not show online as taxed for 3 days on the system.so its best to online tax it at least 3 or 4 days before its expired or it will flag up not taxed0 -

where have you been? Tax discs were done away with two months ago.The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0
