Nationwide - online application,address help

Options
Not sure if any one has come across this before, currently very frustrated

applying via online banking, so my address is pre populated, have to click check address, click the option that comes up, it is my correct address, when i click continue it comes up with an error saying i need to enter a street yet the box will not let me type in it.

Have tried entering manually, i then get an error message saying "address must be targeted" what does this even mean??

Has this happened to anyone?

Nationwide has issues with its Experian address targeting system.

It's particularly pronounced with flats which have a house name, a house number and a flat number.

I always get the Royal Mail PAF search entry up on the screen, then phone technical to guide me through how to enter the details.

The usual route is to choose the manual entry option, then type the property number in the house number box. Add the Flat Number and House Name in the House Name box.

    So,

    House Number "12"

House Name "Flat 1 Amythyst House"

    Street "High Street"

    Town "Stafford"

    Postcode "ST16 2JB."

Then hit find address and the correct address should then be the option you can select and accept.

  • Thanks Kingstreet, tried it - still no go. I'm on a farm so have no street or house number, just the Farm name then Village, Town. Phoned NW, they can't asssit until the tech team are back in on monday.....
  • Hello,

A very similar thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago but they were able to help without referring me to the tech team. In my case it was my employer's address that I couldn't add and the building name had to be put in as the road name for it to work. The system is a bit unclear because the "required fields" appear to change as you fill out the form.

Essentially, give as little of the address as possible until the box appears allowing you to refine it. Can you give the postcode only? Try putting the farm name in the "road" box instead.

    Good luck.
