Whole turkey in slow cooker or halogen oven?

Our oven has totally gone, trips rcd when it's coming up to heat/returning to heat after opening door.

So, we have a 4.3 kg Turkey to cook on Christmas day, planning to either slow cook in disposable tray can whack in halogen oven to brown, or cook the whole thing in halogen?

What would you go for and why? Will sc get hot enough? Would jo totally scorch and dry out whole bird?

Help, thanks :)

I haven't got a Halogen but done chickens and other joints in the slowcooker so would always recommend that.

  • I haven't tried with Turkey but often cook large whole chickens in the halogen and have never had a problem. If you can get hold of a large enough oven bag I find they help keep the meat really nice and moist.
