It’s not often I see a bit of praise for Currys so thought I would give praise on a recent dealing with their their online service and John Lewis failure (not having a rant at JL, have in the past found their service ok)
Ordered a built under double oven from John lewis online serviceon the Thursday, received confirmation and then confirmation of 2 year guarantee, expected delivery was 7 days, that was ok, still plenty of time to fit for Xmas, had holidays left to use up so decided to take the Thursday and Friday of the next week off for delivery and fit of oven.
Go forward one week, receives a phone call from John lewis suppliers on the Thursday early evening, the double oven is out of stock and it wont be in until end of January, asked why I wasn’t informed sooner and not 7 days after order placed, was told “I had to take that up with John Lewis" (John Lewis state supplier never told them it was OOS)
I cancelled order and had a look online, saw same oven at Currys (it was cheaper at Currys too although only 1 year guarantee as opposed to 2 year at JL) ordered the oven same evening, gets a email confirmation of order placed immediately then a bit later a confirmation of allocation of stock and delivery mail and tracking no. delivery is next day between 1 -2pm, receives phone call from delivery team around 1.15pm, they would be delivering goods in around 30 mins, and yes they were there within the timespan stated, all in all a very good service by Currys
