What are the steps involved in developing an idea/invention?

[FONT=&quot]How do I go about discussing it with (say) a business advisor - i.e. I don't want anybody to copy it?[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]How do I decide that it is a feasible idea? i.e. I would like to develop a gadget that could make cars fly, but I don't think that's very realistic in the near future , as least !!![/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]How do I test the market - i.e. if there would be a demand for the product?[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot]Finally, where could I go to get more advice regarding developing my idea?[/FONT]
