            Good morning all,
Am not planning a particularly money saving day today, but it should be an NSD & I will do the following:
*Load washer & put on timer for cheap overnight laundry.
*Sow free packet of Christmas tree seeds.
*Get out last week's leftover carrots & parsnips to add to some roast veg, to avoid them being wasted.
*Make a little sign to fit around hall light switch reminding us to switch off towel radiator at night. We keep forgetting. It's the only heat source in our bathroom, but I don't feel it's really been cold enough yet to justify leaving it on.
*Cut open cleanser bottle so as not to waste the big wodge of it that I know is left at the bottom.
*All free leisure today (apart from a little bit of petrol to deliver gifts to in-laws) as shall read, blog, play the piano & possibly watch something festive or ghostly.
Enjoy your day, all.

            That's London for you. And that's not even that bad compared to some places.
I live in the SW Bob, and I am sure there must be places round here as well that sell £4.50 loaves of bread, though not in our little town where there are too few wealthy enough people to make it worthwhile.
For me today:
Heating on timer/ thermostat, only in bathroom, loft bedroom, airing cupboard and kitchen. It isn't that cold atm so it hasn't come on.
Get a few Christmas decorations up - we don't have too many since the kids have grown up and left home, but it is nice to make it look a bit festive
Done, displayed Christmas cards, brought in and decorated new little Christmas tree and lit lots of candles
Aiming for a NSD
Nothing spent
All meals from stores Done
Need to use up some salad veg, so we will be having jacket potatoes with tuna/ sweetcorn mayo and salad for Sunday dinner. Nice and healthy, and I am sure there will be more than enough roast dinners over the next few days.
Cleaning - really must do some today :eek: Done some, still more to do though!
Light the woodburner later, and put kettles on top, for free hot water for washing up and drinks. Done
Also submitted meter readings to supplier (Ovo). I was able to reduce my monthly direct debit again for the third month. I am now paying less than I was 2 years ago
Have a nice day everyone

            Good morning everyone, some fantastic money saving going on - especially considering it's the last weekend before Christmas. I agree with all of you though, this is the better way to live!
Well, I have lots of cleaning to be getting on with, but had a lovely lie in this morning and I'm still in my PJ's contemplating my second brew before getting on with the day! I'm only off on the bank holidays during Christmas, so I may as well make the most of any lazy time I can squeeze in.
So, my list from the weekend is:
Found 1p on Friday (I'm also having dreams about find change, I can't remember who else said they keep having them!)
Sales meeting and works Christmas do on Friday, so lunch and dinner paid for and got drinks bought all night. Managed to get a left there and back - so no expensive taxis and a totally free night out
DD and I walked to her swimming lesson yesterday (err, don't think I could have driven anyway!) As it was their last lesson before Christmas, they had games and music and a visit from the jolly red man himself. So, she got a sweetie selection box which will be her treats for the next few days.
A lovely NSD yesterday, today I need to get a few basics before going for the big Christmas shop tomorrow evening. Although my present buying has been organised and budgeted this year, next year I need to ensure I can be more prepared for Christmas food too.
Three loads of washing done on economy quick wash - so today I have an ironing pile to get rid of.
Cleaned bathroom and living room.
DH put the last of the Christmas decorations up and now all of the boxes and all of his tools are now back away in the attic.
Today I am going to clean the oven (hate it, hate it, hate it!) and the kitchen and the dining room. It should just be a case of keeping on top of it until Thursday then (in theory).
Made roast chicken yesterday which I will use leftovers for today and tomorrow's dinner too.
Need to wrap OH's presents, all of the rest have been done.
DD and I are off out with her grandma and auntie to a Christmas party tonight. I will be driving and just getting cordial, so should be inexpensive.
Sounds like it's raining outside (again), glad I don't have to go out much today.
Have a great Sunday everyone.SPC # 348 2014-£169.07/2015 - £156.89

            Hi all!
Hope you're all having nice weekends.
Good day yesterday with my friends and only spent £12.70! Blow dry was good too! All my friends were shocked when they saw me! Salon was VERY posh (think guy in a suit and top hat opening the door!) so god knows hoe much it would have cost!
Bit of a lazy day today but house is in good order so not much to do anyway.
So my short list today is:
* check banks
* all meals from stores
* change bedding
* wash bedding on quick wash
* hang some clothes up
* make OH sort out his clean washing
Parents bought round a Christmassy table cloth for us which they've never used so a good freebie there!

            Hi
Well today I am paying for my busy day yesterday. Am totally wrecked and have moved from the bed to the settee. Pretty whacked really. Done nothing, but have not yet spent anything and am not likely too!
Jan feb and march my self employed commission will not cover the costs of the business, so I go into a cashflow deficit quarter. Happens every year, but I am always glad to see the summer back!
So, a NSD for me and after my sleepy day, hope to be recharged for the busy week ahead. Hope you all have a good day.0 -

            Hi Determined Nice to see you.
Dawn - I don't know why but I always thought you were in Scotland. That will teach me to read properly
Today worked a short shift. Got fed at work and free coffees.
Am currently in PC world with little man so he can play on the free games on the iPhone testing table. Cheap momma
Bought us a turkey for £12.50 in the frozen section of sainsburys that feeds 5 to 7 so that means my OH gets his dream of Turkey sandwiches as our small family of 3 won't eat all that. Plus picked up some YS pitta breads for 13p for the freezer. Off to update my GC ticker total.
I feel so much happier today than on Friday. I seem to be such an up and down person. I get into these spirals of thought were I can't stop feeling I'm getting no where fast which makes me miserable. So I am glad to feel calmer and more capable today.
Getting Organised I found a penny too!

            Another couple of bits:
*Did a few surveys & cashed in some of my points for a £15 Sainsbury's giftcard.
*Planted a bag of free miniature iris bulbs, which filled a large & a small pot & will be nice for Spring.
Bob - I think up & down is pretty normal, really.....& you do seem to have had a bit of a rollercoaster of a year.
DNMS - Nice to hear from you. Bet your life is mad busy with your Tiny to look after. Bet she's really cute.
Just realised it's 16 mins past my time for putting the fire on - yay!!

            Today, I carried out a thorough overhaul / review of my monthly Piggybanking which, due to me not being disciplined enough
, has not "done the job".
I've also signed up for a trial version of YNAB (You Need A Budget), which will hopefully make my monthly budgeting more robust / fit for purpose. I found out on MSE Forums that Steam have sales where is can be bought for as little as about £8.00
 so I'm watching their website like a hawk.
Also looking at some cardboard craft ideas - magazine / document holders from cereal boxes
