Mortgage wise it should certainly be possible. However, do you want to live with your boyfriend's mother and brother for the rest of your lives? Why are the other three brothers willing to right off any claim on their mother's estate?
    I wonder...

The LA may well want to know where the £100k went. They may well ask where the £100k went. If the aged parent is still compos mentis she may even be able to tell them. But if it ain't there any more, it ain't there, and there would be sod all they could do about it.:)

Oh there is plenty to LA could do about it. In selling an asset worth £200,000 for £100,000 to a family member this could be seen as a deliberate deprivation of assets.

  • Why would the two brothers want to waive any right to their potential inheritance? Before you even set off down this path, have you stopped to think what you would do if you and your BF fell out with each other a few years down the line - fast forward to 2018 where you come back to post on here that you have moved out of the house and want 'out' of the mortgage, but neither your ex-BF nor his mother have any interest in selling the property, and you want to know 'what are my rights here?'...
