PPI Car Loan

Options
Afternoon All

I hope i am in the right place.

Happy Christmas to all

I am after some help with a car loan we took out in 2003 with a garage and the finance was with GE money / capital. At the time we made 30 payments of £397 to finance our car.

We are at abit of a dead end and in all honesty don't know what to do.

All we have is a bank reference from our direct debit and both santander and GE money were taken over by santdander in 2006 so records are thin on the ground and both are being little help.

How do we best go about tackling this.

Many Thanks

  • Do you mean you had PPI on the loan and believe it was mis sold? I'm not quite sure what you're asking.
  • Hi.

    Sorry for the confusion.

Basically yes, we in our naivety we took out a loan for a ford KA and paid £397 a month for 30 months ish - so we do believe some PPI was attached to the the loan
  • You would need to put in a complaint to whoever sold you the PPI (presumably the garage) and state your reasons why you believe it was mis sold.
  • Judging by the amount we ended up paying £12k for a ford KA.. It is more of an assumption.
  • That doesn't sound like a particulalry strong claim.

What was the original amount and the APR of the loan?
  • You took it out in 2003 for 3 years so presuming you kept up with payments it was paid off in 2006 in which case if Santander/ GE follow industry standard practice then records for it will have been destroyed in 2013, 7 years after the date of the loan's repayment.

You don't actually seem to know if you had PPI or not.
I don't see how you could definitely say it was misssold if you cant remember if you had it or not.

Documents would probably have been destroyed by now, 11 years later.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
