Great for using to wrap presents on! Saves a lot of bending and lifting

Yes, I did that today too.

Like others, I find it great if I pull out the sewing machine. I have also used it as a computer table for my laptop.
  • What a fascinating thread! I've marked countless exams and homeworks on mine, practised uni presentations (using acetate OHP sheets, not PowerPoint!) it's excellent for sofa manicures (spread a towel out first), I've wrapped pressies on it, written cards, the cat sleeps there occasionally - oh and bit of ironing gets done too!

I remember doing my homework on ours when I was a kid, it was the only way to be able to watch the tv too. I'd totally forgotten that, this thread has certainly got me thinking whether I could make ours into a dual purpose item. Xxx

I rarely use mine for the true purpose, never mind dual purpose :rotfl:

My ironing board is permanently set up as a bedside table. I have a table lamp and a clock on it, a couple of library books, and put my specs and hearing aid on it when I go to bed. I don't iron clothes, but the iron is close by on the cupboard in case I want to iron fabric when I'm sewing.

Just remembered we used to use ours as a projection table when using our slide projector.
