Avoid I Love Cashback - they are totally misleading

I just want to warn people about problems with I Love Cashback.
I am appalled at their cashback site which is totally dishonest and misleading. Having not used them for years I was sent several promotional emails by them stating that if I made a purchase at Argos I would receive a £10 bonus. Stupidly I was hooked by this and made the purchase which tracked. However I never received the bonus £10 and thought It would be added to my account once the purchase was confirmed so waited for this. In the meantime I kept getting emails from them for other offers for a £10 bonus including one for Tesco Direct. I chanced making another purchase for the £10 bonus at Tesco and this bonus was added to my account. However I have now been told that I cannot have the original £10 Argos bonus as only one bonus transaction is allowed. This was not made clear on any of their webpages I visited and it was their company who kept sending me the emails for the other bonuses which is totally misleading advertising. It is now too late for me to cancel my Argos purchase so I have totally wasted my money for nothing. To make matters worse I have now found out that I cannot even withdraw the £10 in my account until I have £20 cashback. The other cashback sites I use such as Quidco and Topcashback have a minimum withdrawal amount of £1 or under. How an earth am I ever going to get another £10 cashback to enable me to cashout? I have now had to resort to spending more money joining a Bingo site just to try and get another £10 cashback to withdraw (and so far this has not tracked). Their customer service is totally appalling and once I have my money I will certainly never be using them again!

No cashback is guarenteed, its always a bonus if it tracks and then becomes payable.
You say that you have wasted money for nothing. I dont see how this is possible because you have ordered something that you wanted as no one would really spend money just to get a cashback bonus thats not guarenteed.
If you didnt want what you got from Argos or Tesco Direct, why on earth did you purchase it in the first place??I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. Thanks for your response Sarah. I realise what I have done is silly - I am just trying to warn other people as not everyone is as clued up about cashback sites as you clearly are!
You state that "no one would really spend money just to get a cashback bonus thats not guaranteed." but this is not true as I have just done exactly that even if I shouldn't have and I am sure that lots of other people who they send their emails out to will as well!
I have checked their emails again and their is no mention at all of only one bonus offer per person or who is/is not eligible for the bonus. This is clearly misleading. The items I ordered I did not really need at the time (so would not have ordered them if the bonus cashback was not offered) although I am sure they will come in handy at some point. I will return the Tesco item as I am still within time to do that. I was also silly in not checking their terms and conditions for withdrawal (again very hidden on the site and nowhere in the promotional emails) as if I and known they had a £20 withdrawal rate I would never have even attempted a transaction just to get the £10 offer.
Anyway as they are clearly still targeting people with this offer I hope that anyone else who sees this is able to think twice before taking it up (like I should have done) and save themselves losing money.0 -
Well to give them credit they have now got back to me and acknowledged that it was their error to keep sending me the bonus offer emails and paid the additional bonus I was owed. It is still £20 before you are allowed to cash out though (which is significantly higher than any other cashback sites) so people do need to be aware of this before using them or taking up any bonus offers. Basically they are only worth using if they are going to be your regular cashback site (and they have far fewer deals than most of the larger ones) or if you are undertaking an offer that will give you more than £20 cashback in one go.0
