Claiming old expenses

Okay, so Im setting myself up to be screamed at here I know, but due to a variety of reasons I never claimed expenses at my last company, which I left in May of this year. The expenses total thousands of pounds. Can I still claim them (I have all the receipts) but not sure how I stand legally?

The only way you will know is to contact them.


However, you might struggle because you've left it so long. Most companies have a cut off for expenses claims, particularly for people who have left.


Also they might have already run their year end so accounts will have been filed. In this case they are likely to say no because they wont have accounted for those expenses in the year end accounts & all your receipts will obviously be dated last year so I don't think they'd be allowed to now produce these receipts in this years accounts.


Best thing you can do is speak to them and hopefully appeal to their better nature.
