Something I Can Sell for a Pound a Slice?

Options
Hi,

I would be most grateful for any OS/DFW Style ideas of something delicious that I can make/bake cheaply to sell at work that people would be prepared to pay a pound a slice for to help raise money for my Skydive. I am doing it in about 4 weeks and need to raise over 230

All ideas welcome!!

Luv Jxx

    Hi,

Good luck with the skydive and raising the money for it ! Very brave !

I made these with the kids the other day, and they were gorgeous as well as really easy to make. Look good, too - a bit like a chocolate meringue, but it's actually a slightly biscuity-textured sponge (sounds weird but tastes brilliant). I don't normally like buttercream, but it's perfect with this. Scoffed two and felt satisfied and slightly sick (don't normally eat cakes or biscuits so serves me right :o ). DD1 (card-carrying chocaholic) raved about them.

Had to fight the kids to make sure I saved a couple for OH when he got in !

Might want to make them slightly larger if you're asking a pound each, as that's quite a lot I think (not in the scale of the charity you're raising money for, or the dive you're going to do, of course) - some people will want something substantial / impressive for their donation !

Could also make smaller ones for kids parties (I've got that planned for DD2's birthday in September).

Best of luck with it all and let us know how you get on !

I would pay that for carrot cake, I just can't make it to save my life and love the stuff, it's always really expensive.

    What about fudge ?

What about Twink's hobnobs, they are cheap to make, and goes down well with a cup of tea! Might have to make large amounts though, (to the size of a cookie)

    and probably charge 15 - 25p each!

Out of the batch I normally make 43 normal size biscuits, or about 30-33 cookie size.

Why not look on this thread which has loads of lovely recipies for nice traybakes which would be easy to transport. I heartily recommend the chocolate cake one.

    Hi jet,

Is your skydive for charity? If so it might be worth posting on the Charities Board too.

Queenie's jam slice thingie....it's really cheap and really, really easy to do so you can easily make a huge batch and make a huge profit. :)

I'd gladly pay a pound for most home made cake: carrot cake, brownies, fruit cake, chocolate cake, pineapple upside down cake and lemon drizzle would be my favourites.

If you do biccys you can sell them per bag with a few in tied with some fancy ribbon, same with fudge pieces.
