Room thermometers

Good evening,
I am looking for a cheap basic room thermometer (to see how cold it really is!) as the cardboard one we have at work only starts at 9 and it feels colder that that!
But I am struggling to find one that isn't shipped from China for under a tenner!
I've tried various Pound shops
Maplins
Marks and Spencers
Any suggestions where to look please?
Many many thanks

I got a radio controlled alarm clock from Lidl for I think £7.99 which also shows temperature. Obviously it depends on what they have on offer - but look at cheap digital clocks too.

  • I got a baby bath one as an add-on item from amzn for 2.99, I use it for the bath, but it agrees with the digital sensor we also have in the bathroom, so it might be worth a try.

We had one for 9.99 from a golf store, it also acts as a barometer. :)

I was going to suggest that you nip into an Age UK charity shop as they often have room thermometers in there that will give you a good idea of the temperature and will be able to tell you if it is too cold (they have some kind of crystal in them that changes colour). They are either sold cheaply or you can get one for free.
