Item in sale online full price in shop question ??!

Options
Hi I want to buy nativity costume for my boys. I rang the store and they told me they had 2 and would put them aside
I asked how much they were and as told £8 each.
I checked online and they were in sale £4 each !!
So before I go and buy them what are my rights or chances of telling them they are £4 online ??
Thought I would ask before went in
Hope you can help ?
Thanks

You have the right to pay the price they are quoting, or to walk away. Shops have no obligation to have the same prices in store as they do online.

I've seen this happen more times than I can remember. It would seem it's often the case that stores don't work with the online department at all, almost as if they are two different companies (which they are not but this is how it seems to be portrayed). Not all brands work like this but when they do, don't waste your time arguing with the store or via online, they make the rules as it's their company and this is how they have decided to run things. Like soolin says, it's your choice to vote with your feet, there is no law against what they are doing.
  • And bear in mind it costs them more to run and staff a nice high street store, compared to a warehouse with no public facing staff.
