BMX - suitable bike for teenager

My daughter is going to put all her Christmas money from family together to buy a BMX.
She'll have about £100 to spend but this could stretch to £120 with her paper round money.
It's 30 years since I last had a BMX and I've no idea what to look for.
She's seen one but the wheels are only 20" which suggests it's a bike for a 8-11 yr old, or is it simply the 'style' to have a much smaller bike than normal when riding BMX?
Any help appreciated.

[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

BMX bikes have 20" wheesls
What does she want the bike for? BMXs are play bikes good only for tricks and use in BMX parks, if she wants to use it for transport or rides over a mile it is probably he worst thing to buy.
£120 is not enough for a decent new bike, at this price she has a choice between second hand and a new bike shaped object.0
