Christmas tree sales

Options
Hi everyone

Looking to get a new tree in the Jan sales as I fugue this would be a cost saver for next year. Does anyone know where the best deals can be had. Would be looking for a high end-ish one. Maybe with built in lights etc.

Thanks all :)

    Surely someone knows?
  • I obviously can't speak for all retailers but can say that John Lewis have been discounting trees for well over a week now, reducing stock with the likely aim of not having any after this weekend.
Of course other retailers may well have different ideas but I'd be surprised if there is much availability as late as January and suspect the best bargains may well be in the next few days. The best deals may also be for ex display trees that are perhaps unboxed and the last in store. The store will be trying to free up the space for new stock and glad to sell these at a considerable discount.
Trees are bulky and stores are unlikely to want to risk blocking up warehouse space with unsold stock.

Cool. Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure when to start looking so will watch out for deals now. Will also check out John Lewis.

I bought ours in the January clearance about 15 years ago. It was an ex display for £10 - still using it now and it looks as good as it did then.

We were not looking for a tree at the time but saw it and pounced!

Argos had 50% off last week, not sure if it's still on.

several years ago i bought a tree in the january sales for £2.50 from Wilkinsons at 75% off - 4ft tall and whilst not the best tree in the world - i wanted to get one for the kids at church to decorate with hand made offerings during advent, also got led lights for £1 and some Christmas tree beads for 25p and we had already been given a set of hanging nativity wooden figures. 4 years later the tree is still going strong (including decs) and looks different every year with new ideas for craft items to decorate it with. one of the best £2.50 i have ever spent!!

  • Marks have reduced some today.
Saw this in a magazine though, maybe still too expensive, but it is gorgeous!
