 Hi all,
I work in a very large warehouse on the nightshift. We have about 20people on the shift, approx half are Polish. The majority of people get along fine and I wouldn't view anyone on the shift as being racist. However....
There are a few Polish workers who are making the whole shift unhappy with their ' i'm not a slave attitude '. Everybody on the shift is deployed for a different task every night, but if certain people are on a task they don't enjoy they sulk and argue constantly, and even say that all the English people are racist towards them and they are being picked on. It's also very well known for them to suddenly feel sick and go home after about an hour. We all know it's because they can't be bothered to do that task. What can the company do, because they don't actually say, ' i don't want to do this task so i'm going home now', yet we all know that is the case....
These people are making life miserable for everyone else!!!
Sorry about the long essay here, but I felt like having a bit of a rant.
If anyone wants to comment - feel free with your suggestions....
Take care......

I think the core issue is with your management and their apparent indifference toward resolving the problem. Have you raised your concerns with your line manager and establish why management aren't managing the situation more appropriately.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0

Do they get paid if they feel 'ill' and have to go home? Because if they don't, that will soon sort them out, and if they do, then management may need to start 'returning to work' interviews after any sickness!Signature removed for peace of mind0

Sounds to me like they should be disciplined for not carrying out their allocated duties. EVeryone has to do tasks they don't enjoy - it's part of working for a living!!! But we can't all do things we wnjoy all the time.
Management need to start issuing warnings and proceed to disciplinaries if staff are leaving because they don't like doing the task they're being allocated.
