Barclayloan Mess up
I have just been applying online for a personal loan from Barclays. Everything was progressing until I had to look up some info in a file on my computer. When I closed the file and returned to the browser, the application had completely disappeared. I checked my history and it wasn't there. So I started again.
I was informed that if I wanted to retrieve my application I needed to enter the application number from an email they sent me and tow bits of 'secret' info. Problem: no email received as the application had not been completed and the application no. not issued. So I started a completely new application.
Filled in all the details exactly as before until I got an error message saying that they couldn't identify me and giving a phone number to wring and an error code. (IDMSG8). So I phoned them up, spoke to someone, explained what had happened and gave them the error code.
Person goes away, looks up the error and informs me it means I couldn't be properly identified - what I had told them!
Now, here's the best bit. I was then informed that I had been locked out of the system and wouldn't be able to make another loan application for a month.
Who do I complain to?
