Hi all
Seems I'm in the right place for some some encouragement please as I have just taken the initial steps in sorting out my debt issue.
Forms sent back to SC(finally) and now have an appointment set up this PM for a new bank account so I hope this will be a new start for me.
SC have been great so far but I cant help feeling theres a bigger battle ahead in terms of agreements being put in place with creditors.
I have around 10k of unsecured debt x 3 creditors. My earnings have taken a tumble for the last year following redundancy but I was lucky to be back in work quite quickly but in a very low paid role but I have to start somewhere.
Just wanted to mention while I'm here and I'm sure this is no stranger to some of you - the psychological impact being in debt has had not only on me but on my wife and kids too. My boys are are at the age where they understand more and have been asking ' whats wrong with daddy?' more and more these days. The debt is all mine so really going it alone to some extent but OH is fully aware and is always supportive.
Also, Its incredible when I think how much I have changed as a person - often finding myself becoming reclusive, distant, hard to live with and until my wife pointed this out - more dependent on alcohol....all added to the
fact of witnessing literally everyone else we know prosper this year while we regressed.I'm sure many of you have also been in that place before so would like to just ask for some words of encouragement in terms of helping me come to terms with the situation I find myself. I sometimes question if I am doing the right thing?
I needed to get something in place before Christmas so here we go..
Anyway, the first steps are in place and I am now looking forward to cracking this in more ways than one as I refuse to let depression get the better of me.
Next stop- finding a better job!
I will post back later as I add details of my journey along the way but thanks as always in the meantime for any words of support.

New bank account set up and first of the DD's set to transfer over.
Now need to get paperwork over to SC with all creditors details.
Any ideas how long it takes for SC to start getting in touch with my creditors once they have all the paperwork?:j0 -
Hi Ferry,
Welcome to diaryland! It sounds like you have had a very stressful year, but that you are now ready to tackle the issues head on, with a positive mindset, which will make a huge difference.
There will still be times when you feel like giving up and going right back into your cave but stay strong and keep communicating with your wife so she stays on side.
There is a DMP support thread on the DFW board and they would be able to answer your question with regards to SC.Training Loan - £1300.00/£1,500 (13%), Halifax CC 300.00/£925.00 (31%), OS Weight loss 7.0lb/24lb (29%), Extra inc Nov £220, Dec £532.00, Jan Ex Inc target £200.00. Training hours 10/100 10%

Most DD's now transferred over, documents emailed over to SC.
I guess it will all go bit quiet due to Xmas and New Year, but kind of looking forward to early New Year when I'm sure the creditor fun and games will begin......:j0
