I've got a few tips which you might find handy.
1. Always have a look at the reduced sections in the supermarket near to the end of the day. Most of what you buy can be frozen to be used a t a later date.
2. Make use of coupons/vouchers. They are a god send to me and I manage to get treats for my children because of these along with the above.
3. Search the internet for groups that dedicate themselves to couponing; it's starting to become quite a way of life for some people.
4. If you've got store loyalty cards make sure you use the vouchers they send you to boost your points and then wait for their 'double up' events; you'll be amazed at what you can get for very little - I managed to get quite a few xmas pressies for my kids this way and hardly spent anything!
5. If you're plagued with weeds at any time, use the boiling water from your potatoes and pour it over them as soon as possible - the hotter, the better; sounds nuts but it does work.0 -
Thanks Suzuki,
I will definately be trying the potato water on the weeds, thank you

Thanks suzukigirl!!Does this work on perennial weeds (specifically bindweed and couch grass?) and will it kill plants around it if it spreads? I have an awful bindweed problem in the garden - have never managed to get it under control as in a heavy clay soil and an absolute nightmare!! I won't use chemicals as I have a garden full of birds, squirrels and pheasants plus two dogs so anything that can assist in the battle will be incredibly welcome!!
Tonight, I am feeding everyone a buffet as we still have buffet stuff in the freezer and I need the space! It will be nice to get rid of the boxes anyway - it's not the sort of thing that we normally eat so would probably sit in there till next solstice
Last night, I tried the lemon oil that I made a few weeks ago - absolutely fabulous!!Very pleased with this as I use quite a bit of it and it costs a fortune at m&s.......
I have been struggling to motivate myself today - I cleaned the house yesterday, all the laundry is up to date, I don't have to cook anything and in all honesty, I feel so lazy at the moment, even if everything was a mess I don't think I would be able to make myself care!!
I think that the best thing to do is just accept that I am having a bone-idle day and do better tomorrow!!Mortgage 12.12.12 £55842 12.12.13 £42716 14.12.14 £28837 13.12.15 £25913

Good evening,
I collected most of my clothes today for the rag bag, bin and charity shop but i did where appropriate take off ribbons, buttons and zips for the sewing box. But to be honest i'm not firing on all cylinders today either.

I have been awol for a few weeks....life has been really intense recently and everything has changed!!
Obviously, I can't go into things on here - suffice to say that I am now in a better place emotionally than I have been for ages! :T Today I have sorted the budgets and the meal plan for the week.
New plans:
1) Pay £1000 in overpayments to the mortgage by minimising variable expenditure wherever possible to accomplish this
2) Make weekly meal plans from current stocks and stick to them!!
3) Use cash for petrol, groceries and personal expenditure
4) Do a 28 day detox
5) Sort out the garden for veggies
That pretty much covers my plans for the next few months - I am really happy with where I am now and don't see the need to complicate anything further.
Anyhoo - I am off to clean the house, sort myself out, walk the hounds and then sort dinner....I intend to have it all sorted by 4pm and then I am going to relax and enjoy my evening - I may even finish off my evening with an Epsom salt bath and an early night!!Mortgage 12.12.12 £55842 12.12.13 £42716 14.12.14 £28837 13.12.15 £25913

Well, the detox was a bust!! 😣 I just can't eat the quantity of food required!! I am just eating healthy stuff and not fretting about it anymore....
I have given my current financial circumstances a great deal of thought recently and decided that until my income changes, there will be little to report on these boards, so this will be my final post for the foreseeable future. Just wanted to say thanks to you all for the support that I have received and wish you all good luck with your journeys 😊Mortgage 12.12.12 £55842 12.12.13 £42716 14.12.14 £28837 13.12.15 £25913
