  • Just by cutting spending to the bone really! Has helped too that all of our debts are either on 0% or very low interest rates.

Not posted much on here again recently although I have been reading. I don't know why but I feel like I have lost some of my modjo and feel a bit defeated.

I am ashamed to this is partly due to feeling envious of some of our friends who have recently been able to move on to new houses. I think it has highlighted just how much our debt holds us back. I am not jealous of them in a negative way, in fact I am really pleased for them but I think it has just made the consequences of our situation all the more evident.

I have kept up with the payments although I haven't paid the additional £200 per month that I had planned to.

I really need to get out of this negative frame of mind as it's very counterproductive!! Just feel like I am working all the hours under the sun and throwing most of it at debts. I know that is the right thing to do but I am just feeling sorry for myself and need a kick you the a***.

I think we all feel like that from time to time.

I also think it is easy to look at others and assume their financial situation is all rosy... but who knows how much debt your friends are in themselves.

Years ago we stretched ourselves to buy a big house and it probably was the start of our debt issues, we basically ended up over-committed. Perhaps your friends will look back and envy your debt-free fresh start in a few years time.

Anyway, just keep going, you'll get there! :)
