But... 3 men have a meal at a restaurant which costs £30, so they pay £10 each. The cashier realises that the meal was only £25 so she sends the waiter over with £5. Unsure how to split the fiver 3 ways he gives them a pound each and pockets £2. So.....the men have now paid £9 each = £27 and the waiter has £2! Where has the other pound gone???

Well Postie,
I'm !!!!ed so this is only a guess; the meal @ £25 for three guys cost £8.33 each. They each paid £9, so they overpaid by £0.66 each; there are three of them so that equates to £2 (£1.98 recurring) There is no missing £1, the waiter just short changed them by £2. :j :j Bloody waiters; that's why we never give tips.:rotfl: :rotfl:
Or it could be:
The wording is very clever, but I think it works like this: the meal cost £25, plus a tip of £2, a total of £27. The men paid it out as a £10 note each, and received £1 each back in change - 3 x £9 = £27.:D

OK I kind of think I have the answer - it's to do with the way it's worded - obviously lol! But when you are working out where the money has gone it should read the men have paid £9 each = £27, minus the £2 in the waiters pocket, = £25. Or something like that!0

The first train arrived at Edinburgh 6 minute before the second train got to Newcastle.
Oh Hang on....no, because if the crate of apples weighed more than the crate of peaches and less than the crate of raspberries, then the answer is
WATERMELONS
