Shampoos/Treatments for Thin hair/hair loss

A while ago my hair starting getting thinner. I thought it was getting a bit thicker, but now it's back to being really thin.

I am looking into products to try and help my hair grow back. I am also planning a trip to the doctors to see if there's anything wrong (like being vitamin deficient).

But I just wanted to get people's opinion on whether they've used some of the products I've been looking at. They are so expensive so don't want to waste my money buying stuff that is just no good.

So there's this product, it also has matching conditioner

There's also these that conceal hair loss that look quite interesting. Has anyone used them before?

I will obviously go to the doctor to see if there's any issue why my hair is thinning, but if anyone has experience of any of these products or any other ones I would appreciate it, so I can try them out!

My daughters hair thinned after over use of hair extensions and she had good results from Alpecin shampoo and some vitamin/mineral supplement - Perfectil I think??
  • My hair has thinned as a result of the progesterone only pill. I have used the Nanogen shampoo range and it does make a difference. I have also been using the Pantene Age Defy hair thickening serum which does make the hair look denser around the scalp.

I also started taking hair, skin and nails vitamins to boost growth.

Nioxin for me, was recommended by hairdresser and have used it for a couple of years now with great success. I have the litre bottles in the bathroom and smaller bottles for travelling (I work away from home and travel every week) when the smaller bottles are low I just refill from the large ones. Have a read of the reviews on Amazon or alike
  • High dosage biotin, 5mg is typical, is meant to be helpful to the hair and hair growth. I recommend looking for research on this to find out whether it is fact or just hearsay.

I wish that there was something to slow hair growth, I'd buy it. lol

    Thanks for the suggestions.

I have tried taking supplements in the past, but the ones I got tasted absolutely disgusting (Holland and Barrett branded) so I never wanted to take them! Are the branded ones tasteless?

I also should have mentioned that I used to have dandruff, I probably still do if I stop using my Body Shop Ginger Anti-Dandruff Shampoo. Not sure if changing shampoo will cause it to come back. Do you think it will be fine to alternate between the anti dandruff and the other shampoo?
