Christmas Presents for Awkward Parents?

After stressing about grandparents we have decided to do these and will cover different time periods depending on which ones as we see some more than others due to proximity.

As an awkward grandparent (and parent, obviously) I never really know what to do with any photo books or similar. After they've been looked at they get put away in the bookshelves, to be possibly unearthed in the distant future.
With online sites like Facebook or shared cloud storage I've seen most of the photos before anyway. Maybe it's just me?

My parents are the same - so for the last few years, they've had a little something (key ring, coaster etc ) from the grandchildren and then I've either made hamper of their weeks shopping or given them vouchers for the supermarket that they use. They can then spend their grocery money on something they want, not something I've decided that they want

Just follow your heart desires, parents will still be happy whatever gift you gave to them. It's the thought that counts.
