Tesco Bargain - PC Quake Wars?

Spotted in Gametracker that Tesco have the 'imminent' Quake Wars game for PC available at a rockbottom price of £12.61 including delivery. Excellent, thinks me - that'll be worth it (compared to my preorder elsewhere of £19.99). Cancelled other preorder and tried to buy at Tesco.

Can't be done.
Tesco have a release date of 01/01/2020 which surprisingly enough is beyond my credit card expiry date and it won't allow the order to proceed. Phoned Tesco who say that the date is to prevent people expecting the game earlier than when it is actually made available. But NOBODY can order it - unless you have a very trusting credit card company who give you a card for life!
Where do I stand if, when that date is aligned to some date later this year (or maybe next year - knowing what the game industry is like these days!) and the price changes?
I know the game won't be released for several months, but I was able to preorder elsewhere. Isn't this potentially both false advertising and more to the point - absolutely pointLESS!?
As I've logged it in here as advertised, can I call upon forum members as witnesses to the low price when, if I'm correct, the price changes?!
Of course, I may be wrong - and in which case I take it all back and munch humble pie. . . . . . ! But it still seems pointless advertising anything that people can't order!

Print screen it and paste the screen into Paint but they are entitled to change the price as and when they want.0

Sounds like it's just a mistake to me. I wouldn't lose sleep over it.Can I help?0

Other retailers seem to have done this, saw it a while ago but I don't think it's gonna happen.
Ordered from virgin megastore for £15.99 :money:0 -
No - I know you're all right. And I not worrying. Tongue in cheek to a certain extent. But wrong nevertheless!
Cheers for the Virgin tip, your Royal Bertiness!

I apologise to Tesco and eat the largest humble pie available.
Release Date is now valid, the product CAN be ordered AND THE PRICE IS STILL £12.61 including delivery.
If you intend on buying Quake Wars - can't see you getting the game any cheaper than this AND delivery will be on day of release (presumably dependent on post and the like!).

Coo - I think I'll stay quiet from now on.. ..0 -

And then I DON'T eat humble pie.
Because Tesco ring up, say they have mispriced it and that I should call back if I want to keep the order but be charged £24.97.
So I call back only to be told that the orders has been cancelled anyway and that if I want it, I simply need to reorder. Unhelpful and wasted a phone call that I've been charged for.
The fact that I queried the price with Tesco about 3 weeks ago and they are adamant that the price is right and it's simply the release date that they don't know is by the by..!
Useless.
Use Blah DVD like I have (£17.95). At least they honour the prices they quote and are reliable - unlike a certain supermarket.. .. ..

That's shocking! How can they go back and change the price AFTER you've ordered??? There must be something you can do about that, although I've no idea what...Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0
