Great programme Martin. It amazes me they still don't teach this stuff in school, what those kids learnt in a day or so is probably the most important stuff they will learn. I have friends who have the 'apathy' yet grumble about being skint all the time.
Just to think 15 kids saved thousands of pounds for their parents..... just think if they do the same for relatives..... nationally we would be talking millions and millions :j
I suppose you know when you are doing well when like recently my bank wanted to do a review of my finances. After 10 minutes the advisor said 'you manage your money very well' and thanked me for my time, having sold me nothing!!!! Clearly I'm in a minority though.
Keep up the good work Martin

I sat and watched with my 13 yr old DD - who does know what a credit card is (so proud!!!) - she found it really interesting, thank you.
If you ever need/or would like to talk to another group of school students I'm a school governor and would happily help arrange it.0 -
Recorded it for 13yo DD - we are going to watch it tomorrow. You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0

At last, real survival skills being taught at school. My partner and I both noted how enthusiastic the children were when participating in the tasks assigned. They also looked overjoyed to be using the information learnt and impacting this into real world situations, equating into actual money-saving results.
Hopefully schools will realise the importance of this when they consider whether to opt into providing financial management courses in the future. These classes should be as compulsory as Maths & English.
Hurrah for Martin.

The challenge was to teach a class of 15 year olds for a day and see whether i could get them to save their parents cash. It was an eye-opening experience.
Hope you enjoy it. ITV1 8pm

Hi Martin - watched the programme and have to say if that is all that these teenagers learn, it will be sufficient for them to succeed in life. I wish you had been around when I was "little" - I wouldnt' be where I am now, that's for sure (I'm still learning at 50+). Keep up the good work!:beer:0

Carefull Martin, the banks & insurance companies may accuse you of being immoral, like the travel agents did on one of your programs a while back!Next year we'll be millionaires!0

I really wanted to see this. I have two sons of 15 & 16 who could definitely do with some 'money sense' and thought this was going to be ideal. They think my MSE obsession is hilarious.
I set it up on the sky planner but no signal due to the weather yet again!!!
Is it likely to be repeated or available by any other means?0 -
Damn, i missed it. Is there going to be a repeat?0
