How long should you wait for expenses?

My girlfriend had to stay at a hotel and travel for work. She has now been waiting 5 weeks since handing in the expenses and receipts.

How long should this payment take?

This seems ridiculous to me..

It depends on the process and the dates.

Most companies require managers to sign off expenses so the clock really starts ticking after the manager approves it rather than date you submit it. Many cut off dates are 2 weeks before the payday run if expenses are paid inline with expenses and so if the manager signed it off the day after that you could be waiting 6.5 weeks from the sign off date.

My work pay expenses on the last day of the month, and they have to be in before the 14th of said month. So, in theory, if i handed my expenses form in on the 15th it would be 6 weeks until it is paid into my bank, so your 5 weeks doesn't sound unreasonable.
