Claiming Working Tax Credits When Disabled

At the moment i get dla and severe disablement allowance i would like to go back to work, i know that i would lose the sda but would i be able to claim working tax credits, my hubby earns £19,000 though so would that go against me.

you may be able to claim Working Tax Credit but obviously it is based on your income

You could also ring the tax credits helpline for advice but judging from the posts on this site, they are having staffing problems.
The alternative is to make an appointment with the CAB and get them to do a "what if" calculation showing the position now and if you were to work.
I know its difficult to get an appointment at the CAB but persevere. Another option is to use your local Welfare Rights service (or unemployed workers centre) Welare rights are funded by your local authority so do a search on their webpage.
