Actually, this reminds me of a couple of years ago. Wasted lots of money turning up the heating in the bathroom (where I dry my clothes), empty boil washes on washing machine, gallons of vinegar and soda and plunging drains. About to give up and buy a new washing machine when I realised - the dank, musty smell was not from damp clothing not drying quickly enough or rotting machine drum - it was the bleeding sandalwood/cedarwood fabric conditioner!!!
I am SO glad it's not just me this has happened to! My ex-OH bought a washing gel that was...orchid and something?...fragranced, but I thought it just smelled like unwashed clothes. I practically had the machine in bits trying to work out where the smell was originating from, till I realised my mum had bought the same stuff on the same deal and smelled the same! :rotfl:
